One of the toughest nuts to crack when creating a short video that strives to educate consumers about a complex topic (like health care in retirement!) is coming up with a hook. Couching a tough topic such as end of life care in something warm, like a patchwork quilt, conveys two things. One, it makes the topic approachable by a non-expert audience. And two, it makes the topic a little more warm, a little softer.
I’m always looking for ways to make tough topics more approachable.
And a quilt, here, just felt right.
“Health care is an important needle to thread” is still a line I’m quite fond of.
